THE BROTHERS MAY GO TO HELL, AND BACK

CATCHING LUCIFER’S LUNCH--first collaboration

Hudson, MA—SUMM Publications is proud to announce the release of CATCHING LUCIFER’S LUNCH (ISBN: 1-59975-353-7), a 56-page, horror/ dark fantasy graphic novella written by T.J. May, and painted by Jason May. The book will be available in comic shops and bookstores in May 2006 and will retail for $5.99. It marks the first time a SUMM Publications product will be available at booksellers throughout the country.

CATCHING LUCIFER’S LUNCH is a tale of betrayal, and a twist of fate that sends Higgins Lark on a quest through Hell. Now he must bring back the soul of a lost loved one, or both will be doomed to be Caught for Lucifer’s Lunch.

The horror story is the first collaboration between THE BROTHERS MAY, co-founders of SUMM Publications. Writer T.J. May has already made a name for himself as a spinner of macabre tales with his first SUMM hit ILL CONCEIVED, and THE LEGEND OF NELLIE LONGARMS (Narwain Publications). CATCHING LUCIFER’S LUNCH marks the debut of Jason May as a graphic storyteller. He first gained notoriety as the cover artist of A DAY IN THE PSYCHOSIS OF DAVID PRICE. Critics and pros are already hailing CATCHING LUCIFER’S LUNCH as a strong addition to the horror/ dark fantasy genres.

“Lovecraft echoes in the voice of T.J. May. And Jason May has an artistic style all his own.”
–Gianluca Piredda (FreeFall)

“The Brothers May are poised to become two of our darkest and most distinctive graphic storytellers, giving to their characters a disturbing, though oddly familiar, unreality.”
—Steven Withrow (author of Toon Art and Webcomics)

Exploding onto the comics scene in late 2005 with such critically acclaimed titles as Smoke & Mirror, Abiding Perdition, the Lexian Chronicles and the recent Starship Troopers (to only name a few), Markosia Comics has quickly established themselves as one of the most impressive new publishers of the year.  Now, with their diverse line of quality comics gaining steam in the U.S., Markosia is poised to make a global impact in territories all over the world with representation through International Enterprise.

Enterprise representatives are proud to add the Markosia line on board, and eager to bring their titles to readers world-wide through their foreign licensing services.  “Markosia has done everything that needs to be done for their books to sell,”  adds International Rights Manager Tim Hegarty.  “The quality of their books speaks for the Markosia line with titles that are already drawing international attention, and that quality needs to find its way into the hands of more publishers all over the world.  That’s where we come in.”

With over a dozen titles currently available and ready for international licenses (where rights allow), Markosia has not been pulling any punches as the year goes on.  Sell-out series like Shadowmancer and Abiding Perdition have been collected into impressive trade paperbacks, and recent acquisitions like Smoke & Mirror, Of Bitter Souls (with Norm Breyfogle) and Twilight Men add more star power to an already talented line-up.  And as each new website update and press release shows, Markosia has plenty of tricks left up their sleeves for the rest of the year.

“Markosia is very happy to be strategically allied with International Enterprise as we continue to make waves in this industry,” comments Chuck Satterlee, writer and Markosia’s North American Director of Operations.  “We believe that IE was a no-brainer decision for us as they have proven themselves to be a premiere broker of International Publishing Rights, and we look forward to a long and profitable relationship.”

#1 SELLS OUT FOR A SECOND TIME

Hot on the heels of its international announcement and the start of its foreign promotions, Action Philosophers #1 has just sold out of its SECOND PRINTING, as of today. Copies of the second issue, the All-Sex Special featuring Thomas Jefferson, Ayn Rand and St. Augustine are running scarce themselves, with demand for the books increasing while supplies dwindle.

Due to this success, plans are in the works for a Giant Size Action Philosophers Special to reprint the first few issues this year, as further issues continue to be published through Evil Twin.

Though horrible neighbors, unruly undead suprisingly open to foreign licensing possibilities

Enterprise agents were somewhat cautious of the walking corpses who rented out the land next door to their Orange County offices this week. The mere sight of their rotting flesh and only a whiff of their decrepit odor was hard to miss, not to mention their unusual habits and all-night drinking binges.

It was not long, however, before the two sides sat down, and a parternship was soon struck for the Trailer Park of Terror comic series that chronicles the zombies' undead existence. An anthology collection of some of the best horror comics today, over a half dozen issues are currently available in B&W and full color. Published domestically through Imperium Comics, the entire Trailer Park of Terror series of comics and specials are all available through International Enterprise around the world.
