| NARWAIN PUBLISHING MAKES STAR-STUDDED ARRIVAL |
For an international publishing company to succeed in the US, it must have something unique to offer the industry with quality books and story-telling to back up the big name creators it must have attached. Narwain Publishing is fortunate to have all three, and it shows in their first releases of HORRORAMA, FREE FALL and JENNA.
Dedicated to their readers’ satisfaction, the Italy-based publishing house has assembled some of the biggest names in comics, movies and music to create new and exciting stories with potential profits in markets all over the world. From horror-movie masters Brian Yuzna and Tom Savini and comic legends like Jimmy Palmiotti to New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Tiger Mask and Iron Maiden’s Paul DiAnno, Narwain has developed strong relationships with creators and their characters all over the world. This same devotion is shown towards all other areas of their production, with only the best artists, printers, editors and distributors signed on board, all with the same passion for quality and success.
Fresh from a productive meeting with Narwain at the Frankfurt International Book Fair, International Enterprise is proud to be representing the foreign licensing rights of the entire Narwain line of comics and graphic novels. The partnership will bring even more exposure to the exciting new publisher in territories all over the world, where deals are already underway for international editions in Italy, Spain and the Czech Republic, and demand for the line grows with every new press release announcing more big names and incredible titles.
The first titles already signed on board and available to international publications contain their fair share of big names. From the director of the horror-classic Re-Animator comes this year’s most anticipated horror-anthology collection, Brian Yuzna’s HORRORAMA. 80 pages of this blood-curdling, comic-book black Sabbath are brought to you in B&W by some of the hottest names across the globe today: B. Clay Moore, Rob Worley, Jimmy Palmiotti, Sergio Ibanez, Joe Rubinstein, T.J. May and Takeshi Miyazawa.
Jimmy Palmiotti also appears alongside some big names in the FREE FALL mini-series. With fellow collaborators Gianluca Piredda, Jay Anacleto, Eric J, Dave Bryant and Brian Haberlin, FREE FALL creates a unique crime drama in which a suicidal jumper could make his family millions by providing a diversion for a bank robbery with his death. Five full color issues with Anacleto’s dazzling covers complete this thrilling series.
_ JENNA appears to have the perfect life for a seventeen-year-old girl. She has the cute Mary Jane-good looks, everyone loves the toys made by her father, and her mother belongs on ‘Desperate Housewives.’ But everything changes when she discovers her parents are linked to strange murders and demonic rituals…Iron Maiden's Paul DiAnno provides the introduction and the soundtrack to Issue #2. Written by Philip Osbourne, with art by Jim Fern and Joe Rubinstein, Jenna is already poised for a cross-over with Antartic Press’ NINJA HIGH _SCHOOL and gaining interest for the three-issue mini-series’ appeal to younger and older readers alike.
In only the opening stages of development, Narwain is already establishing themselves as a publisher to watch. Standing out on the shelves among reproductions of old genres and recycled storylines, Narwain dares to offer the industry something new. And from the response they have received both in the States and around the world, comic readers appreciate their efforts and are looking forward to more.
And Narwain certainly has more to offer.

More in the mood for humor? Mr. Thibert has you covered there, as well. Chrono Mechanics are called in to repair the fabric of time. But for such an important job, they've found a rather motley crew of colorful characters that only lead to more colorful adventures.

OF ACTION & MYSTERY |
What would the law mean, if every day had a different face? If the rules that governed the rest of the world and all of humanity did not apply to you? Would you use these talents for the benefit of others or for your own personal gain? Pulp Theatre Entertainment brings these and other questions to the forefront in a unique, action-packed style with BRODIE’S LAW: PROJECT JAMESON, a 156-page trade paperback now available world-wide through International Enterprise and currently being developed into a live-action motion picture. |
Selling over 500 copies of the “Project Jameson” TPB at this Summer’s San Diego Comic Con, the critically acclaimed six-issue series was written by Alan Grant (Batman: Shadow of the Bat) and illustrated by David Bircham. The story revolves around Jack Brodie, an East London thief with a temper and attitude, who possesses the power to "suck your soul dry" by stealing a person's thoughts and identity before returning it tainted with his own evil deeds. Framed for a murder he did not commit, Brodie embarks on a thrilling non-stop mission to find his kidnapped son. In addition to selling record-number copies upon its debut, the series has garnered strong reviews from Variety, Silver Bullet Comics.com and Comixtreme, and is primed to make as strong an impact overseas as it has in such a short time domestically.
The trade paperback features a stunning cover by Simon Bisley, and includes an introduction by film director Renny Harlin, befitting of the cinematic style of the book that catches your eye from the first page and doesn’t let go. But don’t take our word for it: |
“Wow! This comic book is more action packed than the Punisher, more darker than Spawn and more terrifying than the movie “Saw”. This is a top-notch comic book with a thundering storyline and artwork to match! Be prepared to be terrified by events that can be beyond human comprehension! Brodie's Law is impossible to put down!” - Paul Dale Roberts, Silverbulletcomicbooks.com

AN INSTALLMENT OF MYSTERIES |
SEPT. 22, 2005 – Continuing to add star-power of the Enterprise roster with support from the third-largest publisher in the industry, Image Comics has delivered another installment of their titles to our foreign licensing representation. The books include the complete REX MUNDI on-going series and THE DROWNED graphic-novel from current Rex-artist Jim Di Bartolo, along with the remaining issues of the critically-acclaimed SMALL GODS crime series – a trio of quality books making a strong addition to the Enterprise’s growing mystery and crime division of represented titles.
Rex Mundi creator Arvid Nelson has previous experience with International Rights Manager, Tim Hegarty. “The money Tim made for us from foreign licensing in his time at Image helped keep Rex Mundi going, and impacted our discussions with film and video game production houses,” Arvid admits. Rex Mundi has already seen foreign publication in France, Italy and Spain.
A quest for the Holy Grail told as a murder mystery, REX MUNDI is a tale of sin, murder and redemption in an alternate-history Paris where magic is real and the Catholic Church never lost its grip on power. Controversial investigations discover horrific ritual murders and an ancient secret society somehow connected to a mysterious scroll from a Paris church…15 full-color issues are currently available of the series, written by Arvid Nelson, with EricJ providing art to the first 13 issues of the series followed by Jim Di Bartolo.
After reading Di Bartolo’s first graphic novel, THE DROWNED, Arvid Nelson quickly new he had found his new artist. A chilling supernatural mystery in 1800’s Paris, this 80-page graphic novel follows a madman named Theophile on his escape from an asylum and his troubling return home to the haunted Breton Coast. His tatters of memory lead him back to the ungodly events of his childhood, piecing together a secret that emerges into two distinct but intertwining tales of supernatural vengeance. Written by Jim Di Bartolo and Laini Taylor-Di Bartolo, The Drowned tells an unforgettable story that will forever haunt you.
Taking place in the not-so-distant future, the world of SMALL GODS is inhabited by Special People, one out of every hundred, born with some kind of psychic ability. Some try to use their powers for good, maybe join the police force like Detective Owen Young. Other people, criminals, use their powers for their own selfish purposes. All three story-arcs currently completed of this on-going series are now available world-wide in 12 B&W issues, each focusing on different characters and in their own respective genre. In a world of 63 million psychics, writers Jason Rand, artist Juan E. Ferreyra and Editor Kris Simon have at least 60 million more stories to tell.
As a publisher, Image is known for its diversity. In just a sampling of their mystery titles, we have three different styles within the same genre, occurring at different times and, some, in other worlds. All three are currently available through International Enterprise and are ready to bring the Image name to your territory today, along with the quality that comes with it.

INSANELY TWISTED HUMOR FROM MICHEL GAGNE'S
|
Internationally renowned artist and creative mind behind Insanely Twisted Rabbits Michel Gagne brings his Zed comic series to publishers world-wide with representation through the Enterprise. In a similarly twisted, innocent style of such other best-sellers as Parables, A Search for Meaning and The Towers of Numar, Gagne writes and illustrates this science-fiction epic of the young alien Zed and his adventures in space while Iron Giant director Brad Bird provides the 104-page TPB’s introduction.
Six B&W issues introduce a most unusual cast of characters, including a sadistic space pirate, the loudest band in the universe, an alien inventor and his incredible spaceship, and the unlikely hero who gets caught up in a deadly chain of events between them all. MEETS ABROAD |
If there is one thing that translates to territories all over the world, it is the on-going journey of a relationship with a significant other. The ins-and-outs, ups-and-downs, and getting-to-know-yous of melding your life with that of another are experienced in many different forms around the world, but the peculiarities and awkward moments that accompany this unique process are universal – and perfectly captured in three volumes of the Tyler Page comic series STYLISH VITTLES, nominated for an Eisner and now represented to publishers world-wide through International Enterprise.
The Stylish Vittles series tells the story of Tyler and Nanette’s struggle to develop a relationship amidst a hectic schedule of school, family, past-lovers and the ever-looming future of the real world after college – not to mention the upcoming semester Nanette is spending abroad. Three volumes are cleverly written and lavishly illustrated in a cinematic black-and-white by Tyler himself, vooming in from the outskirts of space to his college campus, onto his drawing desk and into his personal life as Tyler and Nanette attempt to form a new identity as a couple while maintaining their own as individuals.

HOST YOUR OWN |
After garnering critical acclaim online with its popular samplings of an Italian-American’s Christmas Eve tradition, the humorous and poignant strips from Robert Tinnell’s FEAST OF THE SEVEN FISHES are being collected into one 96-page hardcover volume complete with recipes – and its now available world-wide through International Enterprise.
In a much different vein than Tinnell’s best-selling books THE BLACK FOREST and WICKED WEST from Image Comics, the black-and-white strips of FEAST capture the intricacies of family life and the large banquet that brings strangers together to remind them they are family. The hardcover collection includes a behind-the-scenes essay along with a special cookbook including the recipes for dishes prepared in the comic, so readers can prepare their own elaborate feasts.
Some comics feature superheroes that capture our imaginations with their heroic acts. Other comics are suspenseful tales of WWII Horror and Wild West vampires. But there are other words out there supported by pictures that fall outside the bounds of mere funny-strips for Sundays’ perusal. With its original content and interactive recipes, FEAST OF THE SEVEN FISHES is a truly unique comic experience that will make you smile at the joy you are reading, and the thoughts of one’s own family it cannot help but elicit. |
| "SUTTON IMPACT" OF POLITICAL HUMOR |
A popular notion exists about the healing powers of laughter to deal with traumatic events. And with today’s torrid political climate of international invasions, substantial accusations and rampant misinformation, Doctor Ward Sutton dishes out a prescription of laughter for contemporary pains in the recent Seven Stories Press collection of his political comic strip, SUTTON IMPACT.

There is nothing funny about the casualties of war, but there is a daily offering of ironies and inconsistencies by those in America’s high places, where Sutton plunges to its murky depths and masterfully exploits for every last drop of humor. With full-color strips that have appeared in The New York Times, The Village Voice, Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly, SUTTON IMPACT takes a maiming satirical bite out of Republicans and Democrats alike. Collecting 128–pages of the best of Sutton’s “Schlock ‘n Roll” and “Sutton Impact” comic strips, plus some of his more provocative and controversial poster art and social commentary, and is now available to publishers worldwide through International Enterprise’s growing alternative humor line. Now you can have a book to be holding while you laugh at America!

3 BLOCKBUSTER ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM SEPT.12, 2005
|
SOARS WORLDWIDE |
A premiere title from Jim Valentino’s Shadowline and an iconic Image superhero, the spirit of vengeance known as ShadowHawk finds international representation as the latest comic signing to International Enterprise.
|

A unique superhero, the ShadowHawk
series has a strong global appeal |
A landmark addition of an Image Comics founder to an already diverse roster of titles, Valentino has worked as a writer, artist or both for nearly every publisher in the industry since the late 1970’s, and changed the face of Image Comics to its most stylistically diverse as Publisher from 1999-2004. Returning to his original Image creation under his Shadowline banner, the mythological legacy of the ShadowHawk returned in late 2004 and continues in the latest on-going series with writer Jim Keplinger and artist Carlos Rodriguez. |
The latest incarnation of ShadowHawk differs from the vigilantes, cowboys, samurais and robots who wore the mask before him, as his helmet allows him to communicate with all the ShadowHawks of the past– a useful tool for such an historic power, as Eddie learns to master his abilities from the best in the world and throughout time. And with the formidable cast of guest stars and run-ins ShadowHawk encounters in the first four issues, he’s going to need all the help he can get. |
“We couldn’t be more excited about having ShadowHawk and Jim V. on board,” comments International Rights Manager Tim Hegarty, who worked on foreign licensing for Image Comics under Valentino’s tenure. “Jim has leapt back into the creative end of comics, and Shadowline is putting out some of their best stuff yet.”
“I'm pleased to be associated with International Enterprise,” adds Valentino himself. “Tim is a hard worker in whom I have every confidence. I believe great things will come from this partnership.”

The Chance of a Lifetime,
or an impossible burden? |
swims its own path, as the responsibility of being the FIRST real superhero is placed on Jack Lewis, along with the burden of understanding his godly power and its greater intentions. This full color, 48-page one-shot is written by James Mitchell with art by Freddie E. Williams II. |
Preview pages and animated trailers are available for both titles online, providing a sneak peek at the storyline and artwork for these respective titles. “The trailers will give [readers] a feel for the mood of the book, as well,” adds Cellar Door Publisher, Jade Dodge. “Cellar Door is dedicated to publishing high-quality illustrated literature and graphic novels with a very definite set of standards, and will only publish books we feel meet or exceed those standards. CLASSIC CHARACTERS FROM |
| |
|
 |
Publishers of fine and distinct comic books and graphic novels for the last 10 years, Moonstone joins the Enterprise roster with quality titles and recognizable properties. |
Take their first four titles to be announced, for example: The Phantom, Sherlock Holmes, Kolchak: The Night Stalker and Robin Hood; not an unknown name among them, from classic heroes of literature to TV and movie-screen legends. And with numerous volumes available for each property, there is more than enough material to meet the demands of any publishing territory.
|
Kolchak: The Night Stalker solves more supernatural mysteries |

Mr. Hood continues to pilfer for the poor in Moonstone's series |
“We are ready to start strong in the foreign market,” comments Moonstone Publisher Joe Gentile. “It’s time for the international comics community to see the quality titles we’ve been publishing for over a decade." And with such big names to choose from, publishers will find that title they have been looking for all along.

BIG NEWS LEADING UP TO FRANKFURT INTL. BOOKFAIR |

Intl. Reps

overseas
and the
largest
gathering of
international
publishers
of the year

Randy Queen’s Darkchylde, Jason Henderson’s Sword of Dracula and Ape Entertainment’s A Different Pace were the first titles announced by International Enterprise on the launch of their promotions May 16, 2005. Over the course of the next few months, the Enterprise announced over 30 more titles from such distinguished publishers as Image Comics, Speakeasy and Boom Studios, Arcana, Dorkstorm and FC9. International Rights Manager Tim Hegarty and Graphic Designer Pat Wright arrived at the San Diego Comic Con in July with a full color catalog highlighting their announced titles, and deals were soon underway with foreign publishers all over the world and new creators eager to sign on board for the Enterprise’s services. |
“The response from creators as we started up was amazing,” admits Hegarty from his office in Southern California. “And with such big name announcements of creators, publishers and titles in such a short amount of time, we quickly established ourselves internationally as a premiere location for the foreign licensing of comics and graphic novels.” |
To promote their debut at the San Diego Comic Con, the International Enterprise website announced new signings every day for the week leading up to the Con, featuring such blockbusters as Mike Mignola, Aaron Williams, Steve Niles, Arcana Studios, the best-selling Hell, Michigan, and a trio of Image titles all in the same week. The international market responded to this barrage of promotions with meetings at the Con and requests for samples and catalog. And with the growing demand from comic creators for foreign licensing representation, the Enterprise is already underway on their next catalog to be ready for mid-October. |

The Summer 2005 Catalog for the San Diego Comic Con featured over 35 titles |
Starting with today’s update and redesign (9/12/05), the next installment of Enterprise titles will be gearing up for the Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany this October. The Frankfurt International Book Fair is one of the largest gatherings of international publishers and literary agents of the year, where hundreds of publishers from all over the world will be in attendance looking for the next hot property to add to their line-ups. International Enterprise will be in attendance in Frankfurt, Germany for the Book Fair from October 19-23, and is already scheduling appointments with interested publishers to review the latest additions to their diverse roster.
"In San Diego, we were able to meet with the foreign publishers who came to us,” adds Hegarty on his upcoming international trek. “At Frankfurt, we will be the ones taking our represented titles to the hundreds of publishers in attendance. And with our growing list of titles in every genre, we will be prepared for each and every one of their tastes.”
The Enterprise promises to have some big announcements up their sleeves leading up to Frankfurt, and will have announced the representation of over 100 titles by the time of the Fair. If the first six months of critically acclaimed creators and best-selling titles established a presence for the Enterprise in the international market, the Fall 2005 season will find even more big name announcements and international sales for all involved. But don’t just take our word for you – we’ll see you in Frankfurt.
International Enterprise is still taking appointments for meetings at the Frankfurt Book Fair. Contact us today for the best available time at tim.hegarty@gmail.com
